Born Seattle WA 1973

Lived in Hawa’i 1974-2000

Lived part of that time (some school years) in San Francisco, CA.

Currently residing on Lopez Island WA.

 BFA Degree/Studio Art, Focus: Glass. University of Hawaii at Manoa, 1999. Instructor: Rick Mills (while on sabbadical: Michael Scheiner & Hank Murta Adams)

Apprenticeships & Assistantships

2017 Assistant to William Morris in native Koga-seki stone-carving, Niijima Island Japan, 30th International Glass Festival. 

2003-2008 Full-time Assistant to Glass Artist William Morris, and his Glassmaking Team at Pilchuck Glass School.

2003-2018 Assistant to Glass Artist Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen and Jasen Johnsen (part-time assistance) 

1997-2010 Assistant to Glass Artist Randy Walker (summers, then full-time from 2003) in glassmaking, metalworking, and in teaching workshops

1997-2010 Teaching Assistant at Pilchuck Glass School Summer Program for various classes. Instructors: Randy Walker, Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen and Jasen Johnsen, William Morris, Katherine Gray, the de la Torre Brothers, Susan Reed.

2006 Appearance in “Chihuly in Tacoma,” video. Documentary filmed at the Tacoma

Museum of Glass,  Chihuly reunites with artists from important periods of

his artistic development.
